**Who we are looking for?**Advocacy Coordinator
**Location**: North Ryde, NSW
**Position**: Full-time (12-month contact)
The Advocacy Coordinator - Ethical Fashion supports the delivery of research, advocacy campaigns and engagement activities, working closely with the Advocacy Lead to influence the fashion industry and mobilise consumers in pursuit of just outcomes.
Your key focus areas will be:
- Relationship management for advocacy and influence - Manage corporate and sector coalition and stakeholder relationships relating to advocacy and develop profile as thought leader on ethical sourcing, labour rights, business, human rights and the environment.
- Effective delivery of Ethical Fashion research and the Ethical Fashion Report to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Create and collaborate on the delivery of impactful engagement and communication initiatives
- Work as a team with Advocacy and broader National Engagement teams to ensure effective collaboration and shared processes.
The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for Baptist World Aid Australia’s research into (BWAA) labour rights, ethical purchasing and corporate responsibility campaigns, forums and collaboration initiatives. This will include participation in the ongoing review and production of the Ethical Fashion Report and Guide and assisting in the production of research and policy materials as required

- Deeply held commitment to justice and human rights.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain relationships of influence with external stakeholders including excellent relationship management and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of key issues relating to ethical sourcing, labour rights, and sustainability.
- Proven capability to create engaging content and resources particularly related to ethical and sustainable consumption and production.
- Team player and contributor to cultures that deliver impact, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with and leading others to deliver complex projects on time.
- Able to understand and communicate the Biblical theology that informs the organisation’s development approach.
**It would be an advantage if you had**
- Relevant experience which may include some combination of environmental, corporate (e.g., sustainability, procurement, or consulting roles) or civil society roles (e.g., labour or human rights organisations) or related applied or academic research.
- Relevant academic qualifications or equivalent demonstrated applied learning
