About the Role

The Grants Development Manager is a member of the Product, Strategy & New Technology team in AGL’s Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Customers business unit.

The Product, Strategy & New Technology team defines and executes growth strategies and product innovation to deliver on the vision of being the partner of choice for Australian businesses to create a low carbon future.

- Coordinate the development of opportunities for leveraging state and federal government net zero and energy transition funding that benefit C&I customers and AGL.
- Drive the development of opportunities through the business development process by matching funding opportunities to customer projects, evaluating opportunities, coordinating internal teams, engaging with customers and government agency representatives where required, writing proposals and managing commercial negotiations.
- Monitor and disseminate to internal stakeholders opportunities for government funding relevant to the energy transition and AGL’s C&I customers.
- Coordinate commercial negotiations by defining commercial principles with end customers, and working with Legal and Commercial stakeholders as required to refine contract terms and conditions.
- Work collaboratively with business development managers and other internal stakeholders with customer and product knowledge to produce a successful outcome.
- Engage with the internal government relations team to leverage their networks into governments for positioning AGL and customer opportunities.
- Actively work with and continuously improve the proposal knowledge library and processes to streamline future responses.

What you’ll bring to the table:

- Experience accessing government grants and subsidies.
- Strong writing skills, and intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills.
- Capability of understanding C&I customer needs and requirements and correlating to potential business value that can be provided by AGL.

- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and engage good working relationships with stakeholders across diverse teams.
- Experience in contract review and negotiation.
- University degree in a relevant discipline with a keen interest in the energy transition.
