**About the Role**

The Indigenous Student Coordinator will primarily provide a programme of support and consultation on academic, career, cultural and pastoral care matters to ensure the successful participation of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander students at Canberra Grammar School.

**About You**

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the ability to provide the following outcomes:

- Liaise and work collaboratively with relevant key staff to provide a programme of support, consultation and referral for Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander students on academic, career, cultural and pastoral care matters.
- Assist the Head of Student Houses and the Heads of Boarding to provide Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander students with academic support by arranging and directing students where to seek additional tuition for groups and/or individuals.
- Act as a link between Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander students and other staff, including teaching staff.
- Initiate and be involved in staff development activities and cross-cultural awareness programmes.
- Liaise with psychologists and/or counsellors in the School.
- With the assistance of the Careers Counsellor, provide information sessions to Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander students on course opportunities and arrange student visits to tertiary institutions and organisations.
- Assist with the selection of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander student scholarships and with their enrolment and induction.
- Contribute to the Reconciliation Action Plan activities and other relevant initiatives undertaken by the School.
- Facilitate NAIDOC Assembly and support the development of appropriate cultural celebrations and events.
- Meet with each student frequently and attend the Indigenous cultural programme sessions.
- Involvement in Boarding life to get a sense of the student experience.

- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
