**About the Role**

**Salary: $91,386 - $105,095 p.a + super**

We're looking for an experienced Investigator to help maintain integrity in Western Australia's racing industry. You'll be responsible for investigating possible breaches of racing rules across all three racing codes. This role also involves working closely with both internal teams and external parties, such as WA Police and other agencies, to address and resolve issues related to the Rules of Racing and other legal regulations.

**_ In this role you will..._**
- Investigate or cause to be investigated any matter as directed or agreed by the Senior Investigator, Chief Stewards, or the Chief Racing Integrity Officer relating to the three codes of racing.
- Present concise reports setting out findings and relevant evidence in relation to investigations to be provided to the appropriate personnel for enforcement.
- Carry out or cause to be carried out race day inquiries to detect illegal activity, including stable inspections, interview of licensed persons and providing a policing presence in the bookmakers’ ring, other betting areas and the racecourse as required
- Develop and maintain suitable registers of KPI data of activities associated with investigative functions including, human testing registers, inspection register’s, complaints registers and other associated functions.
- Assist with preparation of various external reports and other functions as required and directed by the Senior Investigator.
- Other duties as directed by Senior Investigator from time to time, including investigating general complaints, investigating positive drug results, attending race meetings, traceability matters etc.

**_ To succeed in your new role, you will have the following key skills and experience:_**
- Ability to use initiative, discretion and judgement to enable the management and resolution of racing issues and problems.
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated experience in writing comprehensive reports and briefs of evidence suitable for presentation in judicial proceedings both internal and external.
