Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
Due to Snowy Hydro's increasing scope and activities, a fantastic opportunity has become available for a Financial Data Analyst to join our high performing Finance Team on a 12 month contract. Reporting to the Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager, this role will be responsible for all aspects of data modelling and reporting, and will support the analytics, visualisation and corporate performance management tools. In addition, this role will work with the wider Finance team and business to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to build on their experience and learn new tools and analytical methods while growing the business intelligence and analytics platform. This role is based in Sydney and Snowy Hydro supports flexible working arrangements and appreciates the additional value such arrangements can bring to our business and to our employees.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:
Acquiring and working with data from multiple data sources such as databases, flat files, web services etc.

Cleaning, analysing and identifying trends or patterns in complex data sets

Leveraging existing analytical tools to automate manual processes within Finance and the wider business

Assisting in managing, automating, optimising, and monitoring data retrieval, storage and distribution for Finance

Understanding and translating organisational needs into visualisation requirements

Delivering compelling data-driven presentations to communicate and help internal stakeholders to improve their processes and control framework

Leading by example and continuously demonstrating behaviours consistent with the Snowy Hydro Values

**In addition to the above, our ideal applicant will have**:
A Bachelor's degree in Finance/ Analytics / Data Science and a strong background in dimensional modelling

Extensive experience in the development of dashboards, reports, and underlying data models using visualisation tools

Experience working in an AWS environment, Snowflake and Power BI is preferred but not essential

Excellent time management skills with the ability to work with large data sets in a deadline driven environment

Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively
