Exciting opportunity for an experience Internal Auditor to join a State Government Department

**Your new company**

A State Government Department is looking for an Internal Auditor to join their team. This role requires you to work full time hours, on an initial temporary basis.

**Your new role**

As an experienced an Internal Auditor your daily duties will include but won’t be limited to:

- Plan and conduct risk-based audits
- Assist the internal audit manager with the management and administrative functions required
- Support the internal audit manager in the development of the strategic audit plan and annual audit programs
- Maintain and close relationship with external stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the branches audit methodologies, systems, processes and work practices
- Acts as the executive officer of the audit and rick management committee
- Keep up to date with relevant trends and developments in auditing, accounting, risk management and other governance practices
- Prepare draft audit reports
- Conduct meetings with management to discuss audit findings and business improvement opportunities
- Work with management and key officers
- Operate within the departments corporate governance framework, policies and procedures
- Undertake any other duties as required

**What you'll need to succeed**
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work constructively with a variety of stakeholders
- Time management, project management, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in audit, risk management or governance
