**About the Role**
Join our team at the University of Melbourne as an **Equitable Learning Advisor** and play a key role in empowering all students to succeed in their academic journey. In this dynamic position, you will ensure every student — regardless of background or challenges — has equal opportunities to thrive. Working closely with a diverse range of students, from high achievers to those with health conditions or disabilities, you will help create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can fully engage in university life.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with students to develop and implement tailored Academic Adjustment Plans that facilitate equitable participation in their educational journey, in alignment with university policies and guidelines.
- Connect students to internal and external support services to ensure they have access to the resources they need.
- Proactively reach out to students, manage appointments, and follow up on equity adjustments, helping them navigate administrative processes with ease.
- Contribute to a high-quality, student-centered service culture, ensuring all team members deliver exceptional support to every student.

**You’ll Bring**:
- A tertiary qualification in health sciences, social welfare, disability, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong organisational skills, resilience in a high-volume team setting, and the ability to manage conflict effectively.
- Proficiency in using complex databases, such as CRM and student systems, ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions or neurodiverse backgrounds.

**Your new team - Student and Scholarly Services -** Student Equity and Disability Services**
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.
Student Equity and Disability Services (SEDS) is in the Wellbeing Services portfolio, which includes the University’s Health Service, Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and the Chaplaincy service. SEDS is responsible for providing educational adjustments for students with a disability or health condition, are carers of a person with a disability, are defence reservists or emergency volunteers or for cultural or religious observance which impacts their ability to participate fully in their studies.
