**This role sits within the Service NSW Division in the Service Delivery Operational Data & Insights team.**

**About the team**
The Operational Data & Insights team helps Service Delivery leaders make informed decisions by providing clear data and meaningful insights. Our work supports better services, greater operational efficiency and positive outcomes for our customers, our people and our agency partners.

Travel may be required for this role to our different contact centre or service centre locations. Details around expectations will be determined by business needs and flexible work agreements.

**About the Role**:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven **Data Analyst** to join our team. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in data analysis, visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau), and analytical programming languages (Python/R) to deliver actionable insights that drive business improvement. You’ll be a key player in interpreting data, identifying trends, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize processes and outcomes.

**Your Day-to-Day**:

- **Stakeholder Management**: Manage stakeholder requests and clarify requirements to ensure the data aligns with business objectives.
- ** Data Analysis & Insight Generation**: Analyse and interpret multiple data sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
- ** Root Cause Analysis**: Conduct thorough root cause analysis by reviewing interactions, engaging with frontline teams, and understanding underlying processes.
- ** Reporting & Recommendations**: Prepare clear, actionable reports to explain insights, highlight root causes, and recommend business improvements.
- ** ETL & Data Preparation**: Participate in the ETL process, transforming raw data into meaningful formats, ensuring data quality, and preparing data for analysis.
- ** Collaborative Problem-Solving**: Work alongside Business Performance Analysts and Data Analysts to provide data-driven support for problem-solving and improvement actions.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- ** Data Visualisation Tools**: Experience with visual tools like **Power BI**or **Tableau**to create insightful, interactive reports and dashboards.
- ** Cloud Knowledge**: Basic understanding of cloud technologies such as **AWS**and **Redshift**for data storage and processing.
- ** Technical Expertise**: Proficient in **Excel**and **SQL**for data manipulation, querying, and analysis.
- ** Analytical Languages**: Knowledge of programming languages like **Python**or **R** to perform data analysis and automate tasks.
- ** Documentation**: Experience creating clear and detailed documentation for analytical processes, data models, and reports. Ability to maintain structured documentation to support ongoing analysis and decision-making.
- ** Data Lineage**: Understanding of **data lineage** concepts and experience tracking and documenting the flow of data across systems.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $102899 base plus superannuation.
