**About the Role**

The Manager Initiatives Roads sits within the Strategic Asset Management Roads branch of Transport Assets. The role is accountable for providing strategic management of Victoria’s road asset base. With strong connections to other parts of the Department and across the transport portfolio, particularly Metro Surface Transport and Regional Surface Transport in Transport Services, the Manager Initiatives Roads is accountable for understanding emerging strategic issues and taking ownership in the development and delivery of state-wide asset management improvement initiatives. This includes providing state-wide governance, that supports state-wide operational teams to be effective and efficient in the delivery of their programs.

**Position Outcomes**
- **Active Partnerships - **The incumbent has created well established, effective and constructive relationships across Transport Services as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
- **Stakeholder Management - **The incumbent has ensured the team has effectively engaged with stakeholders across the transport portfolio.
- **Asset Custodianship - **As the road asset custodian on behalf of Transport, the incumbent has worked closely with Metro Surface Transport and Regional Surface Transport in Transport Services as the asset stewards, resulting in role clarity and effective custodianship of road assets.
- **Strategic Asset Management - **The incumbent has provided strategic advice and leadership using sound knowledge from a strategic asset management and operational perspective, addressing strategic issues and challenges.
- **Leadership - **The incumbent has adopted effective leadership and support of the team, creating a positive working environment to deliver sustained and well prioritised outcomes, build and maintain high levels of team motivation, accountability and expertise in a high volume, high paced environment.
- **Technical Capability - **The incumbent has strong asset management and roads related technical capability with the ability to provide expert authoritative advice.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering
- Experience in project management
- Extensive experience in strategic and road asset management
