What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Project Officer within Covert and Technical Operations (CTO). The CTO branch is comprised of specialised areas that provide covert, technical and specialised support to the AFP and its investigations. CTO is comprised of the following areas:
Covert Analysis and Assurance (CAA)
Surveillance and Technical Collection (STC)
Digital Surveillance Collection (DSC)
CTO Change program
To be successful in the project officer role, you will be required to operate autonomously predominantly focusing on delivering high-level research, project management and executive support. You will assist with the implementation and development of business projects, develop high-quality contributions to command and Executive decision-making and administration processes, and proactively manage workflows and competing priorities within your area.
You will be required to display initiative, think strategically and demonstrate sound judgement and decision making on a regular basis. Relationship management, workflow prioritisation, and value-added coordination are key elements of this role.
What will you do?
**Project officer work may include**:
Maintaining high level knowledge of the relevant portfolio objectives including progress towards outcomes/outputs/projects to enable the provision of support and advice where appropriate;
Representing the interests of the area with key internal and external stakeholders;
Proactive management of workflows, resource management processes and policy contributions;
Managing the research, planning, delivery and coordination of projects as determined by the relevant stakeholders in accordance with the agreed requirements, timeframe and budget;
Planning and ensuring activities align with and facilitate AFP business requirements;
Providing oral and written advice to stakeholders regarding operational or commercial activities; and
Developing, monitoring and advising key stakeholders on the progress of projects.
Essential Requirements
You must be an Australian Citizen.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Strong communication (written and oral) and stakeholder engagement skills.
A proven ability to work flexibly and achieve outcomes in busy or challenging environments
Has contemporary knowledge and experience in a project officer, corporate, HR, Finance or communications role
Demonstrated ability to cultivate productive and effective working relationships.
