**General Assistant - Identified**

The NSW Department of Education is looking for a hands-on person who enjoys a variety of work to help maintain our Kimberwalli site
- **Full-time, permanent role**
- **Based at Kimberwalli in Whalan**
- **Salary: $39,917 to $51,320 (for those up to 20 years old), then $57,023 to $61,024 per year**
- **38 hour working week**
- **Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent**

**About the role**
Kimberwalli supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to feel strong in culture, stay engaged in school, and transition to further education and employment.

In this role, you will:

- Look after the grounds, including mowing the lawns and other maintenance tasks
- Set up rooms and remove furniture and equipment
- Unpack and store supplies as needed
- Identify and report maintenance and safety issues

**About you**
- Enjoy working outdoors and staying active
- Can take care of tasks like lawn care, minor repairs, and general maintenance
- Is reliable and takes responsibility for their work
- Can work with little supervision and manage tasks on their own
- Trade experience or qualifications are a bonus (but not required)
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Valid Working With Children Check clearance
- A current NSW driver’s licence
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
