Oasis Youth Services is a crisis service that provides accommodation and support to young people experiencing homelessness between the ages of 16 to 25 years.

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Youth Worker, reporting to the Team Leader - Oasis Youth Services. You will provide safe and secure accommodation and professional support for young people who are homeless by establishing rapport with young people and providing individual, flexible support through a person-centred framework.

You will successfully
- Assist in the daily operations of a 24-hour Youth Service environment within the Youth Emergency Accommodation Network that promotes the physical, emotional, spiritual and social development of young people.
- Build rapport and engage with young people in order to identify and respond to their immediate needs
- Offer appropriate support within a person-centred, framework and provide opportunities for young people to achieve their goals
- Conduct living skills/training programs and assist in ensuring relevance to the needs of the young people is maintained

You will have
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV level) in Youth Work, Social Work or related field
- Experience in youth work or within a Specialist Homelessness Service
- Experience in engaging young people of varying cultural, racial, socio-economic and educational backgrounds
- Computer skills - Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn database programs
- A current Senior First Aid Certification
- A current ACT Driver License
- An ACT Working with Vulnerable People Certification
- A willingness to undergo a National Police check
