An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
**Merchandise Planner** to join the Seed Heritage Planning team. Use the merchandise planning skills you have acquired across apparel, accessories or general merchandise to join our dynamic business.
Reporting directly to the Merchandise Planning Manager, this role will see you accountable for planning and trading activities within your department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, analytically minded Planner who is organised and can fit in with a positive and successful team.
**THE ROLE**:
- Establish seasonal class plans for sales, gross profit, stock, purchases, markdowns and stockturn.
- In season trading: review current performance, reforecast and recommend future replans to maximise sales and profit performance.
- Establish and maintain item plans for all key items, ensuring optimal inventory levels are maintained.
- Develop monthly option plans and buy quantities.
- Manage the store gridding and allocation process based on sales, store capacity & demographic
- Responsibility to ensure that size ratios are optimised per style.
- Presenting at the weekly trading meetings, providing analysis and recommendations for future strategy.
- Liaise with Head of Retail and State Managers on store needs and stock issues / opportunities.
- Liaise with Buyers on size, colour and related product analysis.
- Preparation and presentation of post seasonal analysis and opportunities for the future.
**THE REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in merchandise planning within a retail environment
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in all MS Office Programs - Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- An understanding of market trends/store demands
- Solution-orientated thinking and high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification in Finance, Commerce or Business
