**About the role**
We are seeking self-motivated Kitchen Hands to immediately start and join our Hospitality Team at Toowoomba Aged Care Service. You will be preparing and serving all meals including breakfasts, lunches and dinners at our facility.
This is a physically demanding and busy kitchen environment but at the end of your day you will go home knowing that you made a positive impact on the lives of our residents.
These roles are Casual and provide flexibility across a 7-day roster including evenings and weekends.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Exceptional customer service, serving food to elderly residents;
- Setting up and clearing dining rooms and tray service to resident rooms;
- Dishwashing and cleaning of the kitchen, equipment & dining areas;
- Maintaining food hygiene and safety practices according to legislation.
We are currently looking for someone passionate about working in the kitchen, however, depending on the service's requirements, your day may also include cleaning and laundry tasks like:
- Washing, drying and folding linen and clothing;
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
**About you**
You are an enthusiastic reliable worker who enjoys being a team player and can also work autonomously. Passionate about working in the kitchen, you also don't mind helping out with cleaning and laundry duties when required. Working in a fast-pace environment you are committed to provide excellent customer service to our residents. You have compassion for the elderly and are passionate about maintaining an environment suitable to their needs.
Ideally you will have:
- Certificate II in Kitchen Operations and/or Certificate II in Cleaning Operations is desirable but not essential;
- Experience working within the Aged Care industry is desirable but not essential as we will provide you with training to succeed in this role;
- Experience in operating equipment associated with cooking and cleaning is desirable;
- Current National Police Certificate.
