**The Organisation**:
JK has partnered with an Australian owned market leader in the production of reinforced concrete storm water systems. We are looking for a qualified laboratory technician to join this growing team. Full training will be provided to successful applicant and continued support offered throughout the entirety of your employment. You will be working in a fast-paced environment. To be successful in this position you will need to have 3-5 years’ experience as a QC Technician preferably in the heavy industry and be familiar with Tappi testing methods for pulp and paper. Experience with waste management projects is highly regarded but not essential

**The Role**:
Within this role, you will be required to supply support to the plant production team and ensure that pipe production is released to site standard specification for mechanical strength, durability, and quality. Your responsibilities would include, sample testing and sample preparation, operating mechanical testing equipment for dry crushing test, density and water absorption and sample reporting results from the QC tests.

You will also be assisting the research engineer with long tern durability testing associated with wet & dry crush testing, operating equipment for hydrostatic testing of pipe samples and operating equipment for pipe and column sample burst pressure testing.

**The requirements**:

- Self-starter with the ability to prioritise work schedules
- Forklift license is mandatory for this role
- Knowledge XRF/XRD/AAS sample preparation desirable
- Physical fit for manual lifting and be able to work in a dusty and noisy environment
- Experience with solids/ liquid dewatering techniques and in particular pulp fibre testing
- Be able to work within a team environment
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software
