**About us**

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Authorised Officers to lead investigations, promote compliance, and engage with the community to support fair work practices across the state.

The Wage Inspectorate Victoria is an independent statutory authority established to administer the Child Employment Act 2003, the Long Service Leave Act 2018 and the Owner Drivers and Forestry Contractors Act 2005. Authorised Officers are employed by the Wage Inspectorate across multiple operational teams including Child Employment, Long Service Leave and Owner Driver and Forestry Contractors.

**The role**

Key to success in this role is a proactive mindset, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You'll bring a flexible and collaborative approach to your work, thriving in dynamic environments where priorities can shift quickly. A key part of the role involves preparing cases for prosecution, including drafting investigation plans, briefs of evidence, and enforcement recommendations. Your advanced Excel skills will be advantageous in analysing complex data sets, identifying patterns, and supporting complex investigations and compliance audits.

**About you**

To become a member of the team, you will be a skilled and principled investigator with a strong understanding of industrial relations and regulatory compliance and your skills will include:

- Demonstrated experience and analytical skills in independently conducting end-to-end investigations into criminal contraventions, including making recommendations for enforcement and participation in court proceedings
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience in preparing and conducting interviews, preparing briefs of evidence and other related documentation
- You demonstrate excellent judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to procedural fairness. Your communication skills-both written and verbal-are strong, enabling you to present findings clearly and persuasively
- Uphold and support public service values covering ethical standards and professionalism and the ongoing integration of workplace respect, equity and diversity work practices and workplace health and safety principles and practices.
