**About the Role**:
The Paralegal/Administrative Officer, Public Law is responsible for providing and supporting a range of paralegal and administrative duties to the Director and Senior Legal Counsel, Public Law.

We particularly encourage recent law graduates and students who have completed a minimum of three years of law school to apply.
You must show initiative and attention to detail, be willing to learn and work collaboratively with colleagues in Public Law and the broader DTP Legal group, and have excellent research and computer literacy skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Undertake research and analysis on a range of legal issues to support the members and the objectives of the team.
- Prepare and process correspondence and legal documentation under supervision to support the delivery of legal services.
- Manage standard administrative tasks for the Public Law branch including data entry, coordination, scheduling, resource management, completion of forms, payment of invoices and obtaining signatures.
- Support process improvements and best practices in relation to legal matter management, file management, workflow management, and records management.
- Exercise professional judgement in prioritising incoming issues, redirecting or addressing urgent matters, and facilitating follow-up actions.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders including internal clients, legal firms, the Victorian Bar and Courts and Tribunals to progress legal matters.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across DTP Legal and key internal clients.
- Perform other duties and tasks as directed.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
**Mandatory**
- Experience in paralegal or legal administrative support duties.
- Qualification in Law or currently in the process of fulfilling a qualification in Law.

**Desirable**
- Exposure to legal work or experience within a legal practice environment where litigation was undertaken.
