**The Role**
This position will see you perform duties under the direction of the Operations Manager in the preparation, handling, portioning and/or packaging of fresh meat and other products in a chilled environment and undertake other duties within the production department as required.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Preparing meat for sale by removing bones, trimming fat and cutting meat to shape and size
- Taking customer orders over the phone and counter
- Preparing meat cuts, marinating and seasoning
- Operating filling machines, smoking chambers, cooking kettles and vats
- Assisting in the operation of machinery to grind, mix, mince or tenderize meat
- Packing and wrapping meat
- Maintenance of pricing and labelling of products
**Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications**
- Awareness of OH&S and food safety requirements
- Awareness of HACCP food safety program
- Enjoy practical and manual work
- Ability to do quick and accurate work with hands
- Good communication skills
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
