Our services include personal care, daily living supports and capacity building for people with disability.

The main aim of our service is to improve the quality of life of our clients through understanding, commitment, respect and providing choice and independence. This is a face to face role where you will be working with people with disability in their homes or at our centers and in the community. (PPE will be provided)

**We are looking for a compassionate individual to assist with the achievements of**:
Ø Demonstrated skills supporting and caring for people with disability, including complex support needs e.g. challenging behaviors, complex medical supports.

Ø Demonstrated ability to establish a professional working relationship with clients that is supportive, encouraging and challenging.

Ø Demonstrated ability and skill to work within a Lifestyle Planning process for persons with a disability

Ø Demonstrated ability to perform all physical requirements of the position.

Ø Possess well‐developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the conflict resolution, negotiation, problem solving, and the ability to communicate effectively as a member of a team.

Ø Ability and willingness to work in a diverse range of settings including but not limited to - a person’s home or place of residence, other services, community groups and other community settings.

Ø Assisting clients with personal care: showering, toileting, dressing, grooming and domestic care

Ø Supporting client with daily life activities such as shopping, grocery and community participation

Ø Medication management, infection control and nursing care

Ø Manual handling and use of equipment as per client’s needs

Ø Understanding challenges faced by client with mental health and provide positive approach to manage their goals

Ø Creating a safe and comfortable environment

Ø Transportation and supporting social engagement

Ø Having a calm approach to client’s behavior

Ø Meal preparation and shopping assistance

Ø Writing accurate and correct reports

Ø Promoting independent living, community participation and social inclusion

**Criteria**:

- Working with Children Check & Police Check
- Experience as a disability support worker
- Qualification in social, community or disability sector is preferred
- First Aid Certificate & CPR certificate preferred
- Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Availability and flexibility to cater client’s needs and activities
- Excellent communication and proven conversational skills
- Demonstrated awareness of disability related problems and how to provide care
