About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a great opportunity for a Configuration Management Lead to join our Maritime Sustainment team.

The Configuration Management Lead is responsible for implementing and managing the Configuration Management practices and systems for the allocated project.

This will include selection of tools, designing of systems and processes according to the requirements of the project.
- Manage in accordance with the processes in the Business Management System (BMS), including any sector specific procedures and the project Configuration Management Plan (CMP). This includes:

- Configuration Management (CM) Planning
- Product identification & Control including the Product Breakdown Structure
- Documentation Identification & Control
- Configuration Baseline Management
- Configuration Change Management
- Configuration Status Accounting and Reporting, and
- Configuration Audits
- Lead the project's Configuration Management team
- Develop and maintains the Configuration Management Plan for the project
- Liaise and contribute to the day-to-day conduct of configuration tasks including managing data, parts, software and documents in soft and hardcopy using Company systems and processes
- Liaise with project staff, other groups and teams including the customer and management to resolve CM issues and ensure the detailed configuration of the project remains known and under control, and that the product configuration can be accurately reported on
- Provide advice, support and training as required to the project management team and project staff on CM matters.
- Initiate and/or contribute to improvements for the CM system

About YOU
- Relevant qualifications (Certificate, Diploma or Degree) in Engineering or related discipline or trade skill with suitable experience
- Demonstrated experience in setting up processes, systems, tools and formulating strategies for resolution and improvements to processes procedures and/or tools
- Demonstrated experience in an engineering/configuration management environment
- Demonstrated understanding of the structures and processes of Configuration Management and the interfaces with engineering and logistics disciplines
- Experience in the use of Configuration Management databases and Windchill preferred
- NV1 Defence Clearance required
