**The Role**
Life in Major Surface Combatants and Combat Systems Division (MSCCS) is never dull and no two days are the same. MSCCS is seeking professional, motivated and experienced APS 5 Project Officers to perform project management roles within Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCF).
As an APS 5 Project Officer you will:
- Interpret and provide advice within the Project function based on legislation, policy and procedures.
- Set work priorities, and manage workflows and performance.
- Be accountable for organising workflow activities and making decisions relating to your area of responsibility.
- Coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.
- Develop and maintain relationships to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals and objectives of the HCF Project.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of legislation, policy and procedures to provide advice to personnel on project activities.
**About our Team**
Hunter Class Frigate works with experts from the UK, the USA, Canada and Europe to solve highly complex challenges in construction at the newly designed Osborne Naval Shipyard, utilising the latest production technologies, including robotic welding.
The design and acquisition strategy currently employed by the HCF Project is new to the Department of Defence and progresses upon the traditional systems engineering approach to design, acquisition and project management.
Contributing to the HCF Project will encourage you to be cooperative, collegiate, innovative and decisive through building key stakeholder collaborative relationships. You will be supported in balancing work life with family and other priorities, with a variety of flexible working arrangements available.
Information on Defence employees’ working conditions, including an attractive remuneration package with a generous superannuation contribution (15.4%), can be sourced from the Defence Enterprise Agreement.
