The Policy Officer is responsible for supporting the Project Director in developing briefs, reports, guidelines, evaluations, and submissions related to the project. The Policy Officer will work with the Senior Policy Officer, a university team and a Technical Panel to assist in documenting research findings and project outcomes.
The Senior Policy Officer, UVGI reports to the Project Director, UVGI. They will be part of a project team responsible for pilot implementation and evaluation of upper room UVGI as an approach to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 and influenza in Aged care facilities.
Accountabilities
- Provide advice, reasoned recommendations and solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on research.
- Contribute to policy documents that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
- Monitor and contribute to reports on high priority issues, risks and trends and contribute to reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions related to the UVGI Project.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate the flow of information across the department.
- Build an understanding of the regulatory environment for UV technologies to influence policy development.
- Ability to work in high-pressured agile environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
