About Stretton State College
Welcome to Stretton State College. We are a high performing school with an enrolment of approximately 3070 students across our primary (Gowan) and secondary (Illaweena) campuses. As we enter our eleventh year at Stretton State College we are excited to welcome new students and community members to our College.
We have worked to establish a school which has a strong values base, and strives to ensure a culture of high expectations for students and staff. About the Role
Stretton State College values that Guidance Officers are an integral role within the school community to support the wellbeing and mental health of students, as well as supporting students with career and pathway advice. At Stretton State College, Guidance Officers are required to collaborate with other school-based personnel, forming part of the case management process.
As a Guidance Officer you will:
Collaborate with school staff and external support providers in a variety of educational contexts.
Provide professional expertise, leadership and support to our College community and networks in the development and implementation of plans, programs, and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes.
Collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies; are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs; and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.
Contribute towards, and be accountable for the provision of comprehensive student support programs that is responsive to the identified and changing needs of our students.
Participate in regular clinical and technical supervision with a Senior Guidance Officer or their nominee, to ensure the provision of ongoing professional support and development.
