**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 4 Web Publishing Officer.
The Parliamentary Library provides high quality analysis and advice to Parliamentarians and produces a range of publications to support their work. Take a look at our services to see just how much we do: Parliamentary Library - Parliament of Australia
The Communications and Publishing team manages the Library’s online presence including our website and Client Portal (intranet), and coordinates publication of engaging research, legislative analysis and data visualisation. We also create and distribute Library communications to Parliamentarians and the wider community, and manage our social channels (LinkedIn, X and Facebook).
We’re looking for an energetic individual to join our Communications and Publishing team. You will be responsible for publishing web and print content, responding to enquiries, and working with Library researchers to support their publishing needs. You’ll have well developed customer service and communication skills, sound judgement, excellent organisational skills and a great attention to detail.
This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the parliamentary environment and be at the centre of delivering client-focussed web and print communication and publishing services.
**Who we are looking for**:
The Web Publishing Officer will:
- have experience in web publishing (or comparable skills) and competency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
- be an excellent team player and a good communicator
- have a great attention to detail and a flexible approach to work.
**Job Specific Requirements**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications are well regarded but not essential
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

**Immediate supervisor**:Web Publishing Manager
Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 4 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Assist in the maintenance, monitoring and development of the Library’s intranet and presence on the Parliament’s public website, by:
a. loading and maintaining web content
b. contributing to incident and problem resolution
c. responding to web-related enquiries, providing advice, escalating issues as appropriate
d. preparing electronic versions of publications for online distribution and
e. liaising and negotiating with Library staff to ensure timely delivery of print and electronic publishing services.
2. Liaise with clients, internal staff and external agencies to develop and deliver user focused and accessible web content, online publishing projects and communications.
3. Assist with the Library’s reporting activities by running web analytics.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
