Brick Paver

Scott Park Group is a leading residential construction company specialising in high-quality homes across Perth. With a reputation for excellence and attention to detail, we are looking for an experienced and skilled Residential Bricklayer to join our dynamic team.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Site Preparation & Set-Out**
- Review site drawings and mark out paved areas in accordance with plans and supervisor instructions
- Excavate and prepare ground to required depths and levels
- Install edge boards, pegs and formwork to define boundaries

**Base Preparation & Bedding**
- Spread and compact base material to specified levels using mechanical equipment
- Lay and screed bedding sand to required fall and thickness

**Laying & Cutting Pavers**
- Lay pavers to planned pattern and alignment ensuring uniform gaps and levels
- Cut and shape pavers to fit edges, corners and drainage channels
- Compact and joint pavers to achieve a stable and consistent finish

**Finishing & Quality Control**
- Inspect work throughout process to ensure compliance with specifications and Australian Standards
- Clean paved areas and remove waste materials safely
- Report any defects, variations or issues to site supervisor

**Safety & Compliance**
- Comply with all company and site-specific Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
- Wear appropriate PPE and ensure a safe work environment for self and others
- Participate in toolbox meetings, safety inductions and equipment checks

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Certificate III in Bricklaying / Blocklaying or equivalent overseas trade qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ industry experience in brick and paving works
- Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting plans and levels for external paving areas
- Current Construction White Card (WA)
- Competent use of hand tools, brick saws, plate compactors and mechanical aids
- Understanding of OHS requirements and safe work methods for brick paving
- Driver’s licence and own transport preferred

**Skills**:

- Ability to set out paving patterns and falls according to plans and levels
- Base preparation - excavation, levelling and compaction using mechanical equipment
- Mixing and laying bedding sand, mortar, and jointing materials
- Accurate cutting and shaping of pavers to fit angles, edges, and drainage lines
- Installation of edging, retaining and border restraints
- Surface finishing and joint compaction to achieve even and durable paved areas
- Operation of brick saws, compactors, wheelbarrows, trolleys and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Awareness of environmental controls and site cleanliness standards
- Strong work ethic and teamwork skills in multi-trade construction sites
