**Position Summary**

The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) - Psychology provides support to registered psychologists in the delivery of mental health and psychological services. This role involves assisting with the implementation of therapy plans, preparing resources, and supporting client engagement under the supervision of a psychologist.

**Fluency in spoken Arabic is essential** for this role, as it involves working with clients from Arabic-speaking backgrounds to ensure culturally appropriate and effective communication.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the delivery of individual and group psychological interventions under the direction of a supervising psychologist.
- Assist in the preparation, setup, and follow-up of therapy sessions and activities.
- Translate or interpret spoken Arabic in sessions where appropriate, in line with privacy and ethical guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and data entry in line with confidentiality and organisational policies.
- Support clients with goal-setting, skill development, and implementation of treatment strategies as directed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Attend training, supervision, and team meetings as required.

**Essential Criteria**
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or working towards/comparable qualification).
- Experience working under supervision in a health or community setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- **Fluent in spoken Arabic.**:

- Basic knowledge of mental health or psychological service delivery.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic administrative tasks.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience in a psychology or mental health setting.
- Understanding of trauma-informed or culturally responsive care.
- Written Arabic skills (optional but advantageous).

**Job Types**: Subcontract, Casual

Pay: From $23.30 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
