We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Airfield Operations Technical Lead to join our Aviation, Operations & Security team.

As the Airfield Project Technical Specialist, you will lead and provide technical advice on key airfield strategies and projects, ensuring that Melbourne Airport continues to deliver innovative solutions to enable the airport to grow in a safe and compliant manner.

The Airfield Project Technical Specialist also plays a key role in ensuring that information from interface/ projects to Airfield, and communications from Airfield back to interface/ projects is structured, consistent, and timely.

**Key responsibilities**:
The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Responsible for the Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) Strategy and Implementation planning
- Inform of AGL and Civil maintenance requirements during any Airfield change.
- Responsible for the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) relationship specific to Runway Visual Range (RVR)/Part 91 and ensuring maintenance objectives are met ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Support the Airfield Lighting Maintenance Manager as required.
- Responsible for the development of new airfield innovative solutions that complement the Master Planning, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Be the conduit for ALO and AMO front line teams when informing IT projects of the user requirements for new systems.
- Lead feedback for Airfield, ensure that all operational teams have provided feedback to plans for future capital works - Be the one point of contact between Projects, Interface, Airfield.
- Work closely with the Airfield Facilities and Technical Manager ensuring that strategies built are fed into future projects.
- Ensure that projects do not have an impact of the way front line teams perform BAU, if they do then escalate and seek a resolve.
- Support the Capital Plan by providing SME advice in respect to AGL and other Airfield functions.
- Melbourne Third Runway Planning _
- Respond to RFIs during commissioning.
- Review manuals and commissioning documentation
- Operational technical acceptance of asset
- Provides advice on the functional requirements (All Operational)
- Determine the ongoing maintenance requirements for AGL, Pavement, Grassed areas.
- Interface with Contractor during Ground and Flight Checks, received and review ground and flight check reports and submit to CASA.
- Secure CASA approval of the AGL system Facilitate pre D10 CASA inspection.
- 5 years' experience in aviation operations and design.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience to articulate and deliver technical solutions.
- Highly organised and able to multi-task, plan, prioritise, organise and monitor activities and projects.
- Experience in managing multi-stakeholder environments to successful outputs.
- Strategic thinker and the capacity to achieve objectives and produce results within a given timeframe.
- Excellent influencing, communication and interpersonal skills particularly with regard to stakeholder engagement including senior management.
- Self-motivated and driven to set goals and achieve them.
- Demonstrate sound IT literacy with experience in planning and design tools (3D design).
