Our Client has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the team as the coordinator supporting First Nations Outreach Programs. Assisting the Manager and Project Manager and working in collaboration with the Senior Indigenous Advisor and Curator, your role will support the implementation of a unique community outreach and engagement model, that develops new relations and professional development partnerships between the Agency and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities across the country.

In this role you will support the First Nations Outreach programs unit with the delivery of agreed services to Indigenous peoples, organisations, and community members to strengthen cultural and professional capabilities.

This First Nations Outreach Programs unit manages a range of First Nations programs, initiatives and events and works closely with all areas of the Agency. The incumbent of the position will provide high level administrative support to the Manager and Coordinator, including correspondence and diary management document management, program coordination, travel arrangements, logistics and event and program support. High quality organizational skills, prioritization and problem solving skills are essential to the role. Some domestic and international travel may be involved.

You will have the capacity to work flexibly and draw on the expertise from across many of the business units to assist with the delivery of program outcomes. You will work within the framework of the First Nations Cultural Rights and Engagement policy as well as appropriate community engagement and cultural protocols.

**Selection criteria**
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, experience building partnerships and ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Demonstrated high level administrative and clerical skills to support the First Nations Outreach Program, with an understanding or experience in the cultural sector.
- High level oral and written communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated resilience, professionalism and adaptability.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a small team and assist colleagues when required.
- Demonstrated experience managing the delivery of diverse and often competing projects and deadlines.
