Osborne Richardson lead the way in Public Sector recruitment across Sydney and we are delighted to have another fantastic role to bring to the market. On this occasion, we have been asked to assist a key State Government agency, which is tasked with managing Transport operations within the State.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Network and Safety Officer who will come on board the existing team in Paramatta. With this role being largely based at home, with office and site visits likely to be once or twice a month, this is ideal for those who aren't able to come to the western suburbs every day.

In your new role, you will be responsible for arranging and conducting traffic and safety investigations and technical assessments, identifying options to address road safety and traffic management issues, and representing your team on council traffic and development committees. Being an experienced Officer in this space, you will likely know the duties associated with this level of role however, I have outlined a selection of the main tasks below:

- Undertake traffic, safety and land use development investigations, audits and technical assessments to identify options to address network issues. This may include site, road length, speed zone, signposting and delineation investigations, arranging minor upgrade works, and providing advice during proposal and project development.
- Implement network management procedures and contribute to local quality audits and reviews of state-wide procedures, to ensure the quality of the unit’s activities, outcomes, and records.
- Provide high level network management advice within the organisation and to councils through Traffic and Development Committees to ensure effective resolution of issues and good project outcomes.
- Provide timely and considered responses to customer and stakeholder issues to contribute to the unit’s customer focus.
- Work collaboratively with other precincts to build a consistent approach to network and safety management across traffic, speed and guidance and delineation within Sydney Division.

1. Tertiary qualification in traffic engineering or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience in a related field.

2. Ability to lead teams and junior staff in technical investigations and development of options to address network management issues.

3. High level understanding of network management policies, guidelines, technical directions and procedures.

4. Proven ability to investigate and develop solutions to complex network management problems.
