Overview

Key Responsibilities

**Room Leadership**:

- Lead and manage the daily operations of the assigned room, ensuring a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate educational programs and activities based on the interests and developmental needs of the children.
- Maintain a high standard of documentation, including children’s observations, assessments, and individual learning plans.

**Team Collaboration**:

- Work collaboratively with other educators and staff to promote a cohesive team environment.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced educators and assist in their professional development.
- Communicate effectively with families, sharing children’s progress and fostering positive relationships.

**Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies, including health and safety standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for children and staff.

**Professional Development**:

- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and planning days to contribute to the center’s continuous improvement.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education/ECT.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Understanding of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with educational programming and child development principles EYLF, Observations.
- Proficient in using technology for documentation and communication.

Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a childcare setting.

Working Conditions
- This position may require flexibility shifts.
- The role involves physical activity, including lifting, bending, and being actively engaged with children.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
