**Your New Role**
As the Head of the School of Humanities, you will manage a diverse body of disciplines that contribute to an understanding of humanity across space and time and develop key skills in critical and creative thinking and program solving. The School’s programs in English and Writing, Global Cultures and Languages, History and Classics, and Philosophy provide opportunities to interpret human culture and behaviour, from different perspectives and periods.
This key strategic role will see you provide leadership across all streams of School activity. You will be responsible for research and research training; for learning and teaching across a range of courses; ; and for the sustainable management of people and resources in the School of Humanities. In this unique opportunity, you will lead the continued growth and advancement of relationships within the University, the state of Tasmania, and nationally and internationally with relevant professional groups, government, and communities.
As a member of the CALE Leadership Team, you will contribute to determining and managing the College’s strategic priorities and ensure the School’s alignment and academic advancement. Providing exemplary academic leadership, you will develop outstanding research and nurture the career development of staff within the School.

A PhD and the demonstrated academic leadership capability to strategically and operationally lead a School, in addition to a track record of balancing and achieving outcomes and caring for people will significantly contribute to our sustainable future.
**What’s on Offer**
On offer is a 5-year role as the Head of the School of Humanities, underpinned by a continuing substantive role in a relevant discipline within CALE. This role is available at either Academic Level D or E and will be based in Hobart or Launceston.
Remuneration at Academic Level D/E will include a base salary between $152,077 - $164,905, plus 17% superannuation. Remuneration at Academic Level E will include a base salary between $188,051 - $191,812, plus 17% superannuation. An appropriate loading may be negotiated.
