**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Start a rewarding career in Local Government
- Full time position including time to study for a Certificate IV in Business
- Up to $30 per hour
- Increases to an ongoing position when qualified

Kick start your career and gain a qualification in this entry level position with South Gippsland Shire Council. Starting at a Band 2 while training for your Certificate IV in Business, upon completion you will be a fully qualified Band 4 Customer Service Officer. Work towards this ongoing position to open up a variety of pathways that Local Government can offer.

In this role you will be part of the highly motivated and supportive Customer Experience team. You will be guided to learn the key responsibilities of this role, including:

- Delivering quality and professional customer service.
- Providing relevant information regarding Council activities and services.
- Proactively communicate with our customers, primarily in relation to their requests, feedback and concerns.
- Maintain and update relevant customer service data bases.

**ABOUT YOU**:
To be successful in this role you will:

- Be able to complete a TAFE level Certificate.
- Have enthusiasm for self-development and desire to use this opportunity to enhance career prospects.
- Have an interest in customer service.
- Be computer literate with good attention to detail.
- Have good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
