Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking to employ permanent part time or casual Disability/Mental Health Support Workers to be part of our enthusiastic and professional team. You will work in a collaborative and consultative manner to ensure our services not only meet but exceed Participant expectations.

The role of Disability/Mental Health Support Workers is to provide support to people living with disability and/or mental illness to live their best life as determined by them.

This includes:

- Supporting people to access the community
- Daily living support, including attending to low and/or high personal care needs
- Administering medications in line with medication management plans
- Meal preparation and feeding support
- Domestic duties such as vacuuming, laundry, and general cleaning
- Manual handling, including the use of mobile and ceiling hoists
- Supporting people to achieve their individual goals in line with their person-centred support plan
- Interpret and adhere to plans in a person-centred manner, providing flexible person-centred support, including informed decision making and choice and control

Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to individuals living with mental illness and/or with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Eligible to work in Australia and hold a full SA driver’s licence and have use of a roadworthy vehicle.

- Current DHS (Disability-Related) Clearance or NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check
- Manual Handling Training
- First Aid Certificate and CPR (HLTAID003 & HLTAID001)
- COVID 19 Vaccinations
- Fully functioning smart mobile phone with internet and Wi-Fi accessibility

Qualifications / Experience
- Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support or equivalent
- Certificate IV (or higher) in Mental Health or equivalent
- Experience working with people living with disability/mental illness
