**About the role**

We are looking for an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in Wollongong and Illawarra to work with **High Intensity Participants. **You must have availability for a **minimum of three (3) days a week.**

**Duties and Requirements for this role include but are not limited to**:

- _Personal Care._
- _Medication Prompting_
- _Working with participants with complex behaviours which can involve physical/verbal aggression._
- _Can effectively communicate with staff and participants_
- _Technological Savvy_
- _Administration skills_
- _Phone Skills_
- _Ability to complete essential reports e.g., Incident Reports and ABC Forms_
- _General Domestic Duties._
- _Transportation._
- _Social and Community Participation_**.**

As a support worker in our team, you will support individuals with daily living skills, assist with social and recreational activities, implement and monitor practices that will promote a healthier lifestyle, and empower participants to help them achieve their goals. The role will involve working with participants with both low and complex needs. Experience and professionalism are highly recommended.

- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff, management, and participants, their families, and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth service delivery flow throughout the participants' plan.
- Assist with liaising with participants' families and friends to explore new goals, ambitions and ideas.
- Promote and empower participants to achieve their goals
- Increase participants skills and promote independence by enhancing their daily living skills and persona development.
- Provide quality and professional support in line with participants plans, needs, and wants.
- Assisting participants with accessing their social community to engage with their friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle.
- Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills, identify areas of increased support and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals.
