**Position Information**:
Fairfield Heights Public School is located in south west Sydney and has a current enrolment of 661 students from K-6, including 94% from a non-English speaking background with a high proportion of students from a refugee background. The school proudly caters for 15 students who identify as having Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage. The school has a newly established support unit consisting of three special education classes. The school has a Family Occupation Employment Index (FOEI) of 180 and successfully caters for the needs of diverse cultural and language backgrounds with a strong commitment to providing excellence and equity for all.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary. Demonstrated ability in strategic planning to identify school needs and action a comprehensive plan addressing areas for improvement while fostering academic excellence.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to create ana inclusive, inspiring, safe and respectful environment across the school community, which cultivates a sense of belonging and nurtures a positive school culture that prioritises the wellbeing of students.

Capacity to manage staff performance effectively, providing mentorship, feedback, and professional development opportunities to ensure a high standard of teaching and collaboration.

Demonstrated evidence of extensive curriculum knowledge and experience in strategically leading continuous improvement, embedding evidence informed practice, differentiation and high expectations for students in Literacy and Numeracy.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
