**We are looking for a Junior Factory Hand to join our Steel Supply business.**

This is a full-time position, commencing on a casual basis for the first 3 months and then moving to permanent full-time.

**Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm**

This opportunity is open to entry-level applicants who possess strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a passion for gaining knowledge about the steel industry. Initiative and motivation are highly valued.

**Desirable attributes**:

- Work well in a “Team” environment.
- Be organised and able to meet deadlines.
- Be actively involved in housekeeping.
- Have good verbal communication.
- Demonstrate ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks.
- Good manual dexterity with the ability to use tools and machinery.
- Have good Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills.
- Current Australian driver’s license or reliable transport.
- Flexibility and available for immediate start.

**We will give on-the-job training to the right person.**

Hourly rate will depend on experience, ability and productivity based on individual circumstances. Would suit a junior or recent school leaver wanting to learn a career path with a **potential apprenticeship for the right person.**

**Learn the following responsibilities and more**:

- Picking and packing orders for dispatch
- Acquiring knowledge about various types of steel products
- Managing stock rotation and allocation
- Reading detailed drawings for steel fabrication
- Operating machinery, workshop equipment, and tools
- Maintaining general cleanliness and following WHS procedures at all times
- Providing excellent customer service
- Identifying problems and proposing solutions in fabrication
- Manual handling involved in cutting steel
- Light Fabrication of orders
- Learn to use a measuring tool proficiently. Must be millimeter perfect
- Participate in relevant training in the use of specific items and equipment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

Pay: From $23.23 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay

Work Location: In person
