**THE OPPORTUNITY**

We have a new opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive Business Development Consultant to join our market-leading BD team based in Sydney or Melbourne

Reporting to our Business Development Manager responsible for the Finance practice group, you will be partnering closely with our Finance practice group to pursue opportunities, develop and support its strategy, grow profitable revenue, and enhance market position.

This will be well-suited to a mid-senior BD professional who enjoys working autonomously to progress strategic initiatives in our emerging areas and providing guidance on thought leadership.

Acting as a trusted adviser, your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and/or assisting in facilitating major pursuits through identification, developing value propositions, coordinating input and drafting content
- Support implementation of practice group BD strategy across Australia by coaching and connecting partners to maximise market opportunities and pursue new business
- Working with partners and lawyers to develop and implement personal business plans
- Review and update clients in the Client Growth Program, and act as Client Relationship Manager to a priority client for the Finance practice
- Develop and maintain robust BD infrastructure for the Finance practice, alongside the centres of excellence.

This is a permanent role based in our Sydney or Melbourne CBD office. We will also consider those who are looking for part time 4 days/week. We work flexibly in line with our Agile working guidelines.

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**

To be successful in this role, you will be client-centric with demonstrated experience in identifying opportunities, building strategic relationships and networks. You’ll also have:

- An undergraduate degree in marketing, commerce, business or related discipline.
- 5 years+ experience in a business development role with a particular focus on BD coaching/advisory, and pursuits management, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Technical knowledge of business development specifically in tactical sales, negotiation and the principles of relationship building.
- Sound knowledge of corporate finance in Australia would be an advantage.
- Project management skills with as experience managing major bids and tenders.
- Demonstrated sound organisational, planning and project administration skills.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and strong work ethic with a willingness to accept ownership of and follow up on tasks without prompting.
- Ability to confidently communicate and deal with partners, managers, staff and clients at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders whilst maintaining a firm first approach with decision making.

Our brand, marketing and digital team help position us as thought leaders amongst our target markets in the areas we most want to be known for, by creating intuitive and engaging collateral, events and campaigns.

As part of the business development team, you will play a hands-on role in contributing to the firm’s success and helping to achieve its objectives. This could be as one of our business development professionals, coaching partners on relationship building, or building our brand as one of our marketing, design or events professionals.
