**About the Role**:
As the Marketing Officer, you will manage each event to define the logistics, both directly and with support from others at key times, to deliver events that celebrate achievement and culture as well as provide information to our school community. This role requires the incumbent to have a flexible approach, as some significant events may require an earlier start or later finish and attendance outside of school hours. The Marketing Officer will work closely with the Head of Cultural Activities and the Assistant Executive Principal and will collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Manager to communicate, publicise, and market all events via various platforms.Major Accountabilities:
- Manage the school's significant occasions and celebratory and general events
- Ensure all information sharing sessions for current and incoming parents are presented in a way that benefits the public image of the school
- Assist the P&C Association, where needed, with event management and advice
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, industry, business, P&C and community to form productive partnerships to support the events portfolio
The Marketing Officer will take the lead role in the organisation of school events by:
- Liaising with and coordinating large teams of people; securing bookings at appropriate venues;arranging catering services; organising décor/theming if required;working with teaching staff to provide entertainment by appropriate student groups;establishing guest lists and inviting special guests, sending invitations, and managing RSVPs
- Organising audio visual if required
- Developing a crowd management system
- Negotiating rates with suppliers to control expenditure
- Complying with health and safety regulations
- Promoting events;developing advertising plans in collaboration with Communications and Marketing Manager
- Monitoring the event and reporting on event outcomes
- Engaging school community stakeholders, past and present, in events
- Ensure that the presentation of all parent/public events or information sessions is aligned with the school's visual identity
- Working with the Communications and Marketing Manager to design marketing collateral for school events, including programs, PowerPoint presentations, tickets, etc. and ensuring quality assurance/proofing, as required
- Managing the events budget
**The Marketing Officer must have**:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in the area of events management within a complex operating environment
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently in the completion of priorities which may have competing deadlines
- Have a focus on customer service and continuous improvement
- Excellent technological skills, in particular strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel; school based software and/or have the ability to learn same to extract data to use for event management; knowledge of technology to project manage each event
- Manage operational and administrative functions of events to ensure they are delivered efficiently using a project management program
- The ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with academic and corporate staff, students, and parents; and be able to establish good working relationships
- Excellent organisational skills, time management and attention to detail skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have a creative approach to problem solving
- Ensure that whole of school events are a celebration of public education which showcases excellence
When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
