Responsibilities
Produce high quality artisan breads and other related speciality bread products to be sold direct to the public at our bakery located in Brunswick West.
Main Tasks
Day to day duties include:
- Measuring ingredients for recipes;
- Developing new or improving old recipes for artisan breads and
- related bread goods to be sold through the bakery;
- Rolling and cutting dough to form uniform portions that
- minimise wastage;
- Preparing fillings to be included in baked goods;
- Baking, shaping and finishing/decorating artisan breads and other related baked goods into different shapes and sizes;
- Monitoring temperature of ovens while baking to ensure bread products meet high quality standards as to appearance and taste. Also check regularly temperature of bread to ensure freshness;
- Meeting production schedule as set by the head baker to ensure efficient and timely delivery of baked goods to meet customer demands;
- Enforcing strict hygiene and infection control procedures in areas of assignment;
- Managing inventory of food and supplies for area of assignment;
- Ensure proper storage and labelling of food;
- Cleaning the bakery machinery, equipment, storage and preparation in areas of assignment;
- Assisting in supervision of the work of junior members of the team; and
- Establishing strong relationships with customers and other members of our team.
**Qualifications**:
AQF Certificate IV in a related field or at least 3 years relevant employment experience may be used as a substitute for formal qualifications
Experience
At least 3 years relevant experience
**Skills**:
Good hand-eye coordination;
Creativity and strong design skills in relation to the shaping and finishing of artisan and related breads;
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multi-tasks effectively;
Ability to read, follow and adapt recipes to meet customer demands; and
Ability to follow and enforce strict health and safety standards;
**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
