Apprenticeship Careers Australia has partnered with a leading Australian plastics manufacturer who is looking for 2 x Die Setter apprentices for the Polymer Processing Trade. They make polymer & plastic products for a variety of industries including agriculture, engineering, medical, warehousing, logistics, automotive, manufacturing civil construction and landscaping.

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Apprentice Die Setters who want to start a career in a fast-growing industry with excellent career prospects and opportunities. Based at their site in Minto, you will be mentored by the experienced engineering and trades team on all aspects of the role of a Die Setter, while completing a Certificate IV in Polymer Processing at TAFE.

**Key responsibilities under the supervision and expert training include**:

- Operation of injection moulding machines to produce finished plastic products
- Ensuring proper set up of the machinery, handling equipment and other plastics manufacturing tools
- Contributing to the troubleshooting and repairs of the manufacturing machines and tools
- Following quality & WHS procedures
- Helping keep the workplace in a safe and orderly state

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Be mechanically minded love pulling things apart & rebuilding them
- A can-do attitude with a willingness to learn a trade
- An ability to follow safety policies and procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and initiative
- Strong attention to detail & ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in machine operation or manufacturing industry is a bonus
- A current driver’s licence preferred
