We're looking for an energetic, caring and dedicated person to join our small and supportive team in an optical assistant role. Your ability to provide a high level of professional healthcare support service will be valued and well placed on our team.

**Job description**

This is an engaging and diverse role with a variety of customer facing and back-of-house tasks.

You will support a smooth and enjoyable patient experience while interacting with our clients in a positive and rewarding way. You’ll make appointments, prepare patients for their appointment, operate automated testing equipment, assist in updating patient records as well as supporting day-to-day operations such as payments, stock ordering and inventory control.

**Training provided**

You’ll initially receive a mix of online and in-house training to ensure your success in the role.

Fully funded one-day workshops are available throughout the year and are a great opportunity to focus on developing your skills in optics over time.

**Skills you will need**

No prior industry experience is required, but recent or similar experience is advantageous.

You will need to be able to:

- Provide excellent customer service
- Operate a telephone
- Operate a computer, including:

- MS Windows
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- Text message communication

**Hours**

Our normal work hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. We don’t open on public holidays, weekends or late nights. The role will be full time, up to 38 hours per week.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
