**Position Information**:
Corrimal High School is situated on the northern beaches of Wollongong and provides high quality comprehensive education for 473 students from Year 7 to Year 12. With a strong Learning Hub, the school places an emphasis on data-informed, personalised learning, including high quality instruction in literacy and numeracy, to enhance the educational achievements of all students, including 69 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, eight support classes and 20% of students from language backgrounds other than English. The school enjoys positive relationships within its community of schools and has developed strong networks across the Illawarra.
Corrimal High School is one of the Illawarra Academy of STEM Excellence schools as part of the STEM Industry Schools Partnership (SISP) Initiative and also has a small Agriculture Farm and a dedicated Aboriginal Learning & Engagement Centre. The school is a pivotal hub for its community and is operating in the context of ongoing demographic and pedagogical change, supported by a dedicated, caring staff and an aspirational parent community.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach Science.
- Proven ability to collaboratively inspire, motivate and support a diverse staff at various stages of their professional development across the Science faculty.
- Demonstrated capacity to be a dynamic member of the school's executive leadership team and capacity to lead data informed initiatives that address whole school strategic directions.
- Proven capacity to build positive relationships and engagement across the school and community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
