We are currently seeking a qualified Therapy Assistant to facilitate therapy and lifestyle programs for our residents at Bethanie Peel Aged Care Home located in Mandurah. Bethanie Peel is a warm and welcoming 50 bed facility set amongst landscaped gardens, with a personalised memory support area to safely and securely accommodate residents with dementia or similar conditions.

This role is offered on a permanent part time basis, 29 hours a week. The shifts are as follows:
9 day fortnight - Tuesday to Friday, 9am - 4pm plus every second Monday, 9am - 3.30pm

We are looking for someone with a passion for working with people of all abilities and backgrounds. Our Therapy Assistants have an enthusiastic and creative approach to their work and are able to support and cultivate our residents’ strengths and interests.

An important component of this role is the ability to work autonomously and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions independently. You will be able to work under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, while also being confident in using your initiative and creative thinking to ensure sessions run smoothly.

**About You**
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a Therapy Assistant role, ideally in an aged care or other health care environment
- **Demonstrated experience working with residents with advanced dementia**:

- Ability to communicate clearly in both a verbal and written capacity with care recipients, families and team members
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations

**The Role**
- Implement therapy and lifestyle programs for individual residents and groups
- Adapt activities to resident’s level of function under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
- Address a variety physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for residents
- Maintain accurate documentation, both paper and computer based
