**About the Role**:
We are currently seeking a Planning & Environmental Advisor to join our Asset Strategy team. Reporting to the Planning & Environment Manager - Offshore Wind, the role will be responsible for providing key inputs and advice into the development of projects at Alinta.
The primary responsibilities of the role are to manage the environmental, tenure and statutory approval requirements for new projects including Spinifex Offshore Wind. This role must understand the interaction between the technical requirements and design elements of project infrastructure and the statutory and stakeholder requirements for a project. This role identifies gaps and/or conflicts between technical and contractual positions and the requirements of legislation, negotiated agreements and the views held by key stakeholders.
**Duties**:
- Identify, schedule, and manage aspects of the statutory approvals workstream for projects including the Spinifex Offshore Wind Farm, overseeing specialist consultants as necessary;
- Conduct assessments, prepare reports and provide advice on sound environmental management practices for development, construction and operation of development projects;
- Contribute to discussions with traditional owner rights holders to manage Native Title and Indigenous Heritage aspects of development projects;
- Contribute to discussions with landowners, customers, state and federal government departments and other stakeholders to support projects;
- Contribute to discussions with State and Federal departments as required for the preparation, assessment and grant of approvals, permits and licenses;
- Contribute to the preparation and detailed review of contract documentation as required;
- .Supervise contractors and consultants working on behalf of Alinta at the project site from time to time;
- Maintain clear communication with key stakeholders, including internal business units.
**Skills & Experience**:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (for example Planning, Environmental Science/Engineering, Marine Science, Construction, Sustainability)
- Able to work both independently and part of a cross functional team
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with capacity to influence and negotiate
- Experience in Indigenous relationships, Indigenous engagement and heritage management
- Considerable experience in similar roles in renewable, civil construction, energy or marine/offshore projects.
- Project development or project management experience on infrastructure projects from $10m to $100m+ desirable
