**THE COMPANY**

Based in the Western suburbs of Sydney, we are a large well-known manufacturer of quality and award-winning ham, bacon, poultry and smallgoods products.

We use the latest technological efficiencies to control and monitor the curing, cooking and packaging of our products all within our factory premises, whilst keeping with our traditional foundations. This is all achieved under great vigilance, with over 60 years’ experience within the industry.

**THE ROLE**

We are seeking an all-rounder handyman or trade assistant to work within our established maintenance team.

Your duties will require you to work across a single site to fulfil the ongoing general maintenance needs of our workplace, including completing preventative maintenance, services and minor repairs of our manufacturing equipment, plant and building. You will also have the opportunity to assist our experienced technicians with major repairs where appropriate and to build on your existing skills.

Normal working hours are from 5am -and early finishes 5 days per week Monday to Friday. Potential for weekend and after-hours work as required.

We offer attractive rates and conditions along with an immediate start. Training and support will be offered to the right person.

**THE PERSON**

To be successful in this position you will have:

- General maintenance or handyman experience
- Able to operate general machines and the use of equipment including power tools, pallet jacks and other related maintenance equipment
- Skilled in fabrication tasks such as wielding, grinding and cutting
- Scissor lift experience and qualifications (preferred)
- Physically fit and ability to do manual handling work
- A positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to work in a variety of related tasks
- Previous working history in a manufacturing environment as part of the maintenance team (ideal)
- A good stable work history
- Australian residency or permanent citizenship or full working visa
- A minimum of 2 work referees

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week

**Experience**:

- Trade Assistant: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Scissor lift licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
