Get to where you need to be. Sooner
At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.
About the Role
No matter where your career takes you, our Summer Intern Program aims to provide you with the foundations you need to grow and succeed. Our paid eight-week program is a great way to explore a career with ANZ and gain invaluable experience.
We’re interested in people from diverse backgrounds, who are excited to be part of an industry that’s rapidly transforming for a digital and social world. People who want to make a difference for our customers, culture, and community.
Things move fast at ANZ as we’re doing the important work that only one of Australia’s biggest banks with a global network can tackle. But don’t worry, we’re a nice bunch of people so you won’t be expected to have all the answers up front.
So don’t delay, because our plans are big - and we want you right up front with us
You have the opportunity to preference the following Summer Intern programs with ANZ:
**Agribusiness**: (Regional locations across Australia)
**Australia Retail**: Naarm (Melbourne)
**Finance**: Naarm (Melbourne)
**Institutional**: Meanjin (Brisbane), Naarm (Melbourne), Warrane (Sydney), Tarntanya (Adelaide)
**Technology**: Naarm (Melbourne), Meanjin (Brisbane)
About You
We don’t know your name yet, but we do know that you’re curious, smart, driven and already have some great life experiences under your belt.
And that is exactly what we want, along with a mix of backgrounds, opinions, and disciplines to drive the bank forward and adopt our behaviours in all aspects of working day life.
About ANZ
There’s something special about being part of ANZ. From the moment you join us, you’re part of a team working towards a common goal: improving the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers - and that’s big.
But it’s not just our customers who’ll feel your impact. You’ll feel it too as you continuously learn, experience new things, and get the support of a community to help you take the next big steps in your career.
We are just as committed to supporting our people and giving them the opportunity to develop a career. As one of Australia’s biggest banks, we have many opportunities in many locations. Joining ANZ is about starting a career, not starting a job and we encourage people to look for opportunities across our bank.
Activate your career
At ANZ, our commitment to First Nations employment is a key focus of our Reconciliation Action Plan since it was first established in 2007. Since then, we continue to invest to increase social and economic participation, building a culturally professional and safe environment for our business, people and communities.
**RAP Highlights**:
**Evolution of Ngarga Wangaddja**: Ngarga Wangaddja, meaning ‘mob talking’ in the language of the Narungga People, is ANZ’s First Nations Employee Reference Group. The group, consisting of members from across the country advises ANZ’s Reconciliation Action Plan governance committees and consults on matters pertaining to the First Nations employee experience.
Appointment of Shelley Cable, Head of First Nations Strategy, Australia: A First Nations Strategy will accelerate ANZ’s purpose, to shape a world where people and communities thrive. ANZ’s interactions with First Nations touch all corners of the bank, and this Strategy is a means to transform and enhance ANZ’s relationship with First Nations.
**Updating our cultural leave policies**: We have extended our bereavement (also known as compassionate) leave, cultural leave and extending the definition of ‘immediate family’ to include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kinship roles. We also give employees choice in relation to observing the 26 January public holiday. Employees are able to opt to work on 26 January and select an alternative day as a substitute public holiday.

Kaylee Hipwell, our dedicated First Nations Employee Journey Expert will be in touch with you once you have applied to support you throughout the recruitment process and answer any of your questions. We encourage you to ask Kaylee about her career as she has worked with ANZ for over 15 years
