About the role
We are currently recruiting an AI Specialist to join our team on a fixed term basis. The AI Specialist will be the first AI dedicated role in our company, working closely with our Group Manager Data & Analytics, and leaders across our multisite operations to deliver a brand-new progressive programme of advanced analytics and AI.
This role will involve significant stakeholder engagement, defining requirements, programme managing the implementation of fit-for-purpose AI solutions, leading and developing members of the team and broader company.
You will also lead a data landscape for AI and advanced analytics work, reviewing past and current projects and business benefits achieved. You will capture future ideas and advise on and influence the decisions we make as to what AI and advanced analytics work is a priority for our company, playing a leading role in the strategy and roadmap.
This role entails designing and developing robust AI solutions, supporting documentation and processes to enable efficient data usage and analysis, informing stakeholders on solutions, predications and recommendations. Key to your success will be maintaining and utilising AI tools and employing advanced methods to create first class solutions that enable data driven decisions and an ROI.

About you
To succeed in this role, you will have significant experience in leading AI work including for complex programmes, data and tools and specifically within the mining industry.
You will be able to show evidence of the strong business benefits, improvement initiatives and outcomes that your work has delivered, such as significant financial impact/savings, large scale automation resulting in substantial time/cost savings in line with improving companies’ overall performance and increasing competitive advantage.
Key is that you have demonstrable experience building relationships with operational leaders; being able to scope, build and deliver AI and advanced analytical products including communicating, presenting, training/upskilling and continuously improving, able to translate complexity into user-friendly reporting.
This is very much a hands-on AI and advanced analytics role where you will be delivering your own work and outcomes, with clear KPIs and incentive based on performance within a supportive, structured team.

This role is offered on a fixed term basis with a competitive salary, access to an incentive payment based on completion of project milestones, and a hybrid work environment with Sydney CBD base.
