Payroll Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our Remuneration and Benefits team. Reporting into the Remuneration and Benefits Manager, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for providing accurate, timely and efficient processing of Bulla's payroll and related reporting processes. The Payroll Manager will provide professional and helpful interactions with employees on payroll related matters, creating a strong service culture within the department.

**_This role encompasses a hybrid working model, with offices based in Colac and/or Derrimut and flexibility to work remotely as agreed._**

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Manage the end-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
- Monitor payroll system functionality and escalate any system issues as required (Micropay/Aurion)
- Maintain a wide variety of payroll information, files and records in written and electronic formats for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance purposes
- Actively participate in payroll related audits as required
- Provide a point of contact and liaise with staff and management on payroll related queries.
- EBA pay rule interpretation and processing of increases and calculation of EBA and salaried changes.
- Workcover processing and calculations
- Calculate and process termination payments as required.
- Complete payroll reconciliations as required
- Manage uploading of new employees into the payroll system. Interpret and ensure compliance with relevant legislations including Workcover, Superannuation and Fair work.
- Manage end of month and end of year processing, reporting and reconciliations
- Control the reconciliation of payroll, payroll tax, insurance and superannuation payments and authorised payroll deductions
- Provide reports to Managers, Board, and other stakeholders
- Conduct refresher training at all sites for all UKG (WFR) users as required
- Lead, coach and develop payroll team members to ensure a collaborative and cross skilled team
- Create and update as required standard operating procedures

**You will have**:

- Advanced computer skills including a high level of competency in Payroll and time and attendance-related software **_(Micropay/Aurion/UKG highly desirable)_**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll entitlement calculations, including leave and termination/ redundancy calculations.
- Intermediate-level skills in Excel
- Sound numeracy skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of payroll legislation and processes.
- Experience in leading a small team, preferably payroll team
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
