**About the department**:
The Austin Health Food Services Department is an in-house service which consists of the following business unit:
**Patient Food Services**: provides patient meals for all Austin Health campus’ as well as providing a patient meals service to Royal Women’s Hospital. Currently the Austin Health Patient Food Services Department is plating approximately 2700 cook/chill meals each day. Food Services has 138 staff.

**About the role**:
The key purpose of the role is to take meal orders from patients whilst ensuring compliance with dietary needs and requirements along with inserting collected data into the patient meal ordering system i.e., Chefmax.

**Hours per week**: 35 Hrs P/W

**Employment status**: Permanent Part-time etc

**Appointment period: Permanent Ongoing**

**Additional notes**: Must Be available across all shifts and ability to work in different sites

As **a Menu Monitor** you will be responsible for...
- Holds a sound knowledge of patient meal ordering systems e.g., Chefmax
- Assist patients with meal selection as required as per diet codes and to assist with patient meal service enquiries
- Collect and process patient menu information and production requirements for the Food Services Department in the required allocated period.
- Key interface point with Nursing, Patient Food Services, Nutrition & Dietetics and Speech Pathology staff to ensure patients’ meal selection and nutritional requirements are met as well as with Larder, Short Order, and production requirements.
- Menu monitors are responsible and accountable for all ordering of diet meal requirements.

**To be successful for this role you must**:

- Holds a sound knowledge of patient meal ordering systems e.g., Chefmax
- Assist patients with meal selection as required as per diet codes and to assist with patient meal service enquiries
- Collect and process patient menu information and production requirements for the Food Services Department in the required allocated period.
- Key interface point with Nursing, Patient Food Services, Nutrition & Dietetics and Speech P
- Menu monitors are responsible and accountable for all ordering of diet meal requirements.
- To follow all Dietary Guidelines as outlined by Nutrition and Speech Pathologists.
- To work across sites
- Ability to work in a team environment and work independently as required.

- To be available for duty across 7 days per week

Any other duties as directed by the Patient Food Service Supervisor on duty as well as Food Services Management
