Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
**The aim of this role is to**:
Assist the Manager and Assistant Commissioner in developing strategic direction and implementing QBCC policy and responding to the needs of key stakeholders;
Provide high level technical and policy advice to the Manager, Assistant Commissioner and Service Trades Council on issues affecting plumbing and drainage industry;
Investigate and audit performance of notifiable work and licensed plumbers and drainers and provide advice to the Service Trades Council to ensure the integrity of the notifiable work system;
Represent the Commission's interests and provide contributions at state and national levels as required on forums, groups and committees;
Provide high quality written and oral advice on complex issues affecting the plumbing and drainage industry;
Prepare and contribute to investigations, studies, communication and reports relevant to notifiable works and other issues affecting the plumbing and drainage industry;
Coordinate communication and engagement activities to support the Service Trades Council and to raise industry awareness of notifiable work and other issues affecting the plumbing and drainage industry;
Continuously monitor and undertake research into the performance of plumbing and notifiable work to ensure high quality, cost efficient and effective plumbing standards under the relevant legislation;
Lead and contribute to project teams to deliver and achieve outcomes; and
Provide effective coaching to team members to ensure appropriate capability development.
High-level written and verbal communication, mediation and negotiation skills, including the ability to present complex messages clearly and concisely for a range of audiences.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to develop effective strategies and processes leading to high quality outcomes.
High-level stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain operational networks and manage conflicting priorities.
Ability to analyse complex issues and trends in the building and construction industry and provide high quality and rigorous advice.
Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to manage effective delivery of projects and initiatives in a timely manner.
